Writing Hint #1 Proof Reading

Proof reading what you write is essential. That goes without saying – but I’ll say it anyway. Anything you publish on your blog or send to a print publisher needs to be as perfect as you can make it. You owe it to your readers.
I recently came across this quote which sums it up beautifully:
“Proof read carefully to see if you any words out.”
That says it all!

One of the biggest problems I have when blogging is the proofreading. I’m too familiar with what I’m writing. I’ll check a post over several times, correcting any mistakes I find, then after I publish it – BLAM – I see mistakes that stick out like a sore thumb.
Sure is frustrating, isn’t it? Spelling is another hazard for me. After seeing words misspelled by my students over the years I sometimes wonder how on earth some words should actually be spelled. And spell checks are often useless. I have a collection of well used dictionaries as a result.
